September Do-For-You Challenge 🤚🏼 Revised

Who would be interested in doing this with me? If for no other reason, please take alittle extra time, this September, to invest good things into yourself. You deserve it just as much as anyone else 💖

30 Do-For-You Days in September:

  • Spend time with the right people! Those who build you up, help you improve, and support you.
  • Face your problems head on. Work through some of that; so, it no longer controls got.
  • Be honest with yourself! Always!
  • Make your own happiness a priority. {As it should be!!}
  • Be yourself, genuinely and proudly. There’s no one else like you! Flaunt it 🙂
  • Notice and Live in the present. This is how you never miss the important stuff.
  • Value the lessons your mistakes have taught/teach you. Your mistakes don’t define you.
  • Be more polite to yourself. Positive self-talk.
  • Enjoy the things you already have. Many wish for what you’ve got.
  • Create your own happiness. It’s a life only you can decide.
  • Give your ideas and dreams a chance. You never know what you CAN do until you try.
  • Believe that you’re ready for the next step. Because you are! Everything it takes is already within you.
  • Entertain new relationships for the right reasons. Be sure you understand your intentions.
  • Give new people in your life, a chance.
  • Remember to embrace your now version of you. The others require you to let go of what was involved when you were them.
  • Cheer on other people’s victories. They worked for what they earned. You can, too!
  • Look for the silver lining in tough situations. That’s usually the lesson. It’s always there.
  • Forgive yourself and others. Life’s too short for what hate does to the body, heart, and soul.
  • Help those around you. Everyone could use a dose of kindness. It’s just fact.
  • Listen to your own inner voice. It’ll never misguide you.
  • Be mindful of your health; and, care for the issues as necessary.
  • Notice life’s beauty all around you.
  • Accept less than perfect situations (which is all the time!) It’ll be ok.
  • Work toward your goals, every single day.
  • Be more open about how you feel. That’ll hold you accountable to open up and be honest with yourself.
  • Take full accountability for your own life. Only you can decide what it is or will be.
  • Take deliberate steps to nurture your most important relationships.
  • Concentrate on the things only you can control.
  • Focus /believe in the possibility of positive outcomes.
  • Notice how blessed you are, at this very moment.

Self-Care Ideas 🎒🏫

As you read this, I’ll be waking to the first day of another school year. While I am glad the kids will be learning, and spending time with peers, I’ll also feel the anxiety of energized kids, social events, homework, and meals. Throughout the school year, teachers, staff members, parents, and students should include special time periods for self-care. They’ll refresh our minds and relax our whole self. What other ideas come to mind when you think about unwinding during a school night?

Motivate Monday

Motivation is a process!!!

It’s something we develop as we mature.

First, we identify our goals.

Then, we decide what it’s going to take to achieve those goals.

Next, we take action!! That’s the in-between.

The in-between is the time for great resilience, determination, motivation, focus, and confidence.

One’s confidence is often lower than their realistic capability.

I struggle with confidence!

The process is a group of tangible steps.

The steps are building character.

The whole process happens over time.

Sometimes, you feel like you’re failing.

Sometimes, you will resist yourself to try again.

Sometimes, your best won’t be what you were able of to give.

All of that is OK!! You can keep trying!

Time will change things.. And suddenly, you’ll surpassed your expectations.

The goals are the icing on the cake.

The whole beginning to end is life.. No matter what the goal is… Remember, while you’re living.. To be happy… And joyful..

Remember to laugh and accept that opportunities to try again is part of learning. Give yourself grace!

As long as you’re trying, you should be proud of you!

You Don’t Know ‘Till You Know

First, I LOVE MindJournal!! It’s a fabulous resource for an array of subjects related to Mental Health. Please check out their Pinterest page.

In my Mental Health Journey, I can say I have gotten better with identifying my needs. In order to do that, I’ve had to take time and consider what should be on that list.

That’s step one.

Sadly, many of us have no experience in this area because we’ve never practiced it. Myself, personally, didn’t even know this was a thing.

The next obstacle is the belief that what our needs don’t matter.. or that our unmet needs shouldn’t be identified and fulfilled. None of this is actually true.

Here, I found something to get you started. This list is AMAZING.. and has even brought insight to me, regarding love in my life.

I hope this encourages you to grab a small journal and write your thoughts down. Physically, release that energy onto paper. Refer on this source; and, reflect on patterns and growth.

Your healing is an intentional choice.

Self-Care Has to Be Intentional

How much time will you waste on going “through the motions” while stagnant in the “emotions”?

How much effort do you invest into yourself/wealth/ & future?

Why do you pretend so fiercely; yet, your emotional trauma affects your normal body functions?

Do you face your truth?

What “could be” might be uncertain.. but; it’s the “certainty in your current trauma” that’s creating a horrible “ existing “ experience.

I talk a lot about self-care and mental health. It’s important! It’s a topic that needs normalized into our lives, schools, society, and the work place.

In taking care of us. self-care is more than bubble baths and shopping sprees. It’s more than several drinks at the bar with war buddies.

The reality is.. Self-Care is doing the hard stuff to heal from the pain. It’s intentional choices that put you in new and uncomfortable situations. It’s talking the real talk to yourself when you need it most. It’s showing up for yourself when you doubt. It’s writing stuff down. It’s working it out. It’s letting go of the anger.

It’s facing it. Facing yourself and choosing you OVER Denial..Pride… Complacency.

Self Care is doing what’s best for you; even when it’s challenging.

Because you deserve it!

Dad deserves a gift that best reflects who he is:

  • Beginning again just means that I have the courage to know when to walk away from what is no longer serving me.
  • I attract what I speak, so I only speak positivity.
  • My new week requires me to release the emotional garbage of last week, in order to do and be my best possible.
  • Every decision I make is shaping my destiny.
