Blogmas Day 18🎄⛪🎄

Time changes everything; but, is that so bad?

Today, I realized how much things change.

Zivah’s is top left in the blue and lime green sweater.

My daughters’ had their school Christmas concert.. 18 years after I graduated ( say what?????)

4 Major Difference with School Performances

1. Masks!!! OMG! Years ago, when people were SIGNIFICANTLY more intuned with nature’s way of operating, this government didn’t mandate such nonsense. No one “feared” standing next to a stranger who wasn’t wearing a mask.

2. Attire!! Every Christmas Concert required students to be in their dressed up best! I HATED it; but, we all look dashing! Today, kids were literally dressed from nice sweaters to tees and baggy jeans. I’m not sure why I expected the teacher to require a bit more dressy.

3. Recording!! Cell phones popped up like Sunflowers in Summer!! Crazy! I’m included! We use phones to capture moments in time, banking on Icloud or some other digital app to “store” them. I remember when I was young, my mom had one of those big Camcorders that sat on your shoulder. You recorded on VCR tapes!!

4. Concert Setting!! As you can see, the decorations in my video is made of paper… White paper… Simple snow flakes and paper chains. The stage was probably 100 yards from the bleachers. We sat on bleachers!! When I was young, nearly every school had an “auditorium”. The room would be decorated so pretty.

Blogmas Day 13🎄⛪🎄

One tradition, that’s popping up around Pinterest, is something called Christmas Eve boxes! It’s very similar to my self care kit, except it’s for December 24th 🙂 Here’s five ideas for the kids in your life (kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, best friends kids, whoever)

5 Christmas Eve Kids Box Ideas

1. Movie night

  • Popcorn
  • Pjs
  • Fuzzy socks
  • Favorite candy

2. Game night

  • Game
  • Fruit Snack pack
  • Hot chocolate
  • Christmas book

3. Craft Night

  • Craft supplies
  • Little snack
  • Disposable camera
  • Lots of glitter

4. “Party” Night

  • Masks (masquerade type)
  • Balloons
  • pjs
  • Disposable camera

5. “White Elephant” Night

  • Gifts in boxes
  • Paper for guesses

Prep time: 5 mins 😍

  • 4 (.73 oz) envelopes hot cocoa mix without marshmallows
  • 1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese, room temperature
  • 4 oz. cool whip, thawed
  • 2 -3 T. vanilla mallow bits

2. Peppermint Fluff Dip: This looks too pretty to eat! Haha The recipe and directions came from this page. I can’t paste an image so please go visit The Pinning Momma and see how delicious this looks.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 container (7 oz.) Marshmallow Fluff
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese

Happy Pierogi Day 🤍

Taken from National ToDay on Twitter

I remember reading these for the first time. My mom just boiled them, these added a dash of salt and butter.

I’ve made them once or twice. My girls were little, so they didn’t care for them. I’m going to try again soon.

Do you have a special way you make yours (if at all?)

Here’s some interesting history!

Pierogi arrived on Polish territories in the 13th century. The were probably imported from the Far East via eastern neighbors such as Kievian Rus (today’s Ukraine) perhaps thanks to Hyacinth of Poland (a monk in a Kiev monastery who became patron saint of pierogi). In the past, pierogi were more popular in the eastern borderlands of Old Poland than in the west. The first written pierogi recipes come from Compendium Ferculorum a book published in 1682. It was the first Polish cookbook of the renowned cook Stanisław Czerniecki.

Labour of Love

This county was literally built from the blood sweat and tears of hard-working, talented, and honorable human beings.

We often say, “Rome wasn’t built in a day.” We understand that to mean, it’ll take time to accomplish a grand task. Workers, back then, only knew this life.. day in and day out.. before sunrise until after sunset. They sawed, hammered, dug, carried, loaded and unloaded, relocated, built, filled and dumped, walked, welded, created.. There was no sense of defeat among the people. There was no “rush” to get it done.

They took pride in their accomplishments. They naturally accepted the tiresome jobs and didn’t complain.

Growing up, I was taught “Haste makes waste.” If your body and mind are in a state of rush.. It’ll fog your focus.. thus resulting in mistakes that require more time to correct. Amazingly, these workers understood that, too. The physical work and dirty jobs were their life. They didn’t dread going. They didn’t try any shortcuts to save “resources” at the risk of structure failure.

I admire these individuals. I admire their sense of dedication, work ethic, and humbled nature. Whether in their professional or personal lives, the labour of love was unmistakably evident.

Happy Labour Day America ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸

Rocks & Jelly Beans

My daughter, Zivah, and I spent some quality time together. We ran to the largest candy store in the United States, b.a. Sweetie Candy Company, and bought a ton of jelly beans!!! (Because today is National Jelly Bean Day!!) Then, we ran to Long John Silver’s for chicken and chips. After lunch and Zivah accidently locking herself in the public restroom, we stopped at Home Depot, for rocks to paint. We were going to head to the park to collect acorns and other nature finds, but didn’t make it. I wanted to take some time to pick up some trash, too. Maybe something we’ll do this week. It doesn’t have to be Earth Day to pick up trash. LoL. It’s been a super fun day!!! What did you do for earth day? Anything fun?

5 easy turkey crafts 4 kids

My girls absolutely love crafting, and I love participating, while listening to them chatter💗The credited source is linked to each of these photos. You can find the full list of supplies and instructions, as well as other activities, by visiting the links.

Here’s a list of 10 easy and cute turkey crafts for the holidays

  1. img_0877I love this activity because the supplies are cheap, and the instructions are so simple! Little kids need to learn how to spell his/her name so this is such a cute lesson.

1.  Have your child color the paper plate brown.

2.  Cut and attach the feet,  bill and caruncle.  Also, attach the eyes.

3.  Cut and label a feather from construction paper for each letter in your child’s name.

Note:  Your child may be able to do step 2 and 3 on their own.

4.  Hide the letter feathers in a designated space.

2.

This thank you turkey is too adorable! Even those who don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, could participate with this. Kids practice writing, using scissors, and while having fun!

The instructions can be found in the link attached to the picture;).

Instructions can be found in the link attacked to the photo😉

4.

These are so precious!! I remember, while growing up, we’d make these in school. The sentimental gift is always priceless!

Supplies Needed:

  • Plain Wooden Frame;
  • Brown Paint and Paintbrushes
  • Feathers
  • Google Eyes
  • Glue Gun
  • Foam Triangle Sticker

The instructions can be found in the link attached to the picture;).

5.

This activity teaches number recognition and follow simple direction concepts. Kids can color it by number, paint it, fill them in with finger prints, or colored rice. The older kids can use this for a counting activity, too.
