Life of a Single Mom

My kids aren’t into the cool shows, or movies… Like the ones from the late ’80s to mid’90s… you know, like Strawberry Shortcake and The Little Mermaid LOL

Oh no, we’re adventurous kids like Paw Patrol and PJ Masks lol.

Here’s my little silly turkeys tonight:

No matter how frustrated I get, they know how to make me laugh!

#Monday Coffee Share

816EF33F-9D22-499D-A10E-C3CBDCBD1FAD

As I sit here sipping my coffee, I feel happy. I feel happy for many reasons.

Shortly after I got up, I wanted to feed my soul with something good & wholesome. Other than coffee, I don’t usually put anything in my body until lunch. Youtube had my rain playing, and I, then, found a story about adoption. This is such a delicate subject for me, because I am adopted. All over the world, children are given up to a system that “hopefully” places them into a suitable home. That’s not always the case.

What I love most about these stories is the gift of reunion. The precious and intimate moment when loved ones finally see each other for the first time in priceless. I get the waterworks because it’s life changing. Individuals wish and pray for this moment, remaining hopeful that it will happen.

I’m happy these positive stories are available to view. I’m happy that these reunions have been well recieved, and that the fokes welcomed each other into their lives. I’m happy that these individuals haven’t grown bitter and hateful.

The reasons why others act as they do isn’t always apparent. Though it may not make sense to anyone or everyone, most people do what they thought was best.

MoonChild & Her Wolves

MoonChild has family roots that tie her to The Sioux Native Americans. She doesn’t live a lifestyle similar to her heritage; however, she respects and practices the basic fundamental truths.

One cold Friday night, Moonchild heard a noise outside her living room window. She’s never had issues with intruders; but, there’s a first time for everything. She grabbed her rifle, tucked in a locked box, behind her bedroom door, and stepped out onto her porch.

“Hello? Who’s out there?”, She shouted, with her rifle ready to fire. Being a single mom of two daughters, she was always ready to fight and protect.

She heard no response. She repeated the question, ” Hello?! I know you’re close. Come out into the light and no one gets hurt!”

Suddenly, she heard little whimpers.

“Huh??” She uttered.

Slowly, she made her way down the steps, and noticed several pawprint tracks in the snow. Her heart sunk; “Oh my!” She thought to herself. Whatever animal was close, couldn’t be very big. The prints explained that much.

She slowly stepped off the last step, and moved toward the direction of the prints. The moon was full, a beautiful blue and lit up the snow.

Just around the backside of her tool shed, huddled in a hole dug in the far right corner, where a beautiful pack of cold baby wolves.

She stared for a moment, then fell to her knees. Slowly, to not spook the babies, she sat on her heals and waited. MoonChild knew wolves were loyal to thier pack. If they were here, it’s highly likely adults of the pack were close.

The waiting turned into twenty minutes, and the North Dakota snow drift, especially this time of night at this time of year, is deadly. As if these precious babes understand her concern, they slowly made their way toward her. Sniffing first, to endure safety, one by one, they circled her.

She continued to be still, intuitively realizing she felt their trust. After another ten minutes, they were bouncing on and licking her.

Quickly, she gathered her precious pups, and hurried inside. They surely needed food and water.

Today’s Joy

Today’s joy has been a bit of a challenge. I’m coming down with the flu, along with having such a broken spirit. I’m trying though; and some days, that’s enough.

My biggest joy today was ordering Christmas gifts for my girls. I know the holiday isn’t about gifts, but I’m thankful for what I could buy.
I also spent quality time with my older daughter.
    The weather was comfortable.

Uncle Al before coffee

This is Uncle Al, the snapping turtle. There’s one in every family, you know; the crazy uncle who’s lost a screw or few. The Uncle that makes you feel super sane because he’s a bit out there?

Well Uncle Al just woke up. He’s waiting on coffee. Uncle Al is extra snappy before his coffee. Don’t be decieved by his cute porky nose and crooked smile.
