ABC’S for Grown-Ups

Acknowledge your mistakes. They’re opportunities to be better.

Buy yourself flowers, coffee, or new shoes! Dating yourself is a thing.

Coffee. Coffee. Coffee.

Dare to stand for that which you strongly believe.

Expect boundaries to be followed.

Find friends who can become family. Family is who loves you.

Get up and make your bed. It starts the day with an accomplishment.

Heed your own advice; or, don’t give it.

Identify with your truths, whatever that looks like.

Journal your thoughts. It’s free therapy.

Keep no anger. Everything is how you feel it to be.

Love yourself first. You’re the most important person in your life.

Mature with age.

Nap when you get a chance!

Open your mind to think outside what you understand.

Participate in that which adds value to your life.

Quiet your insecurity voices; so, you can hear your truth.

Respond to situation with rational reasoning.

Spend time alone, in silence. It’s freeing.

Teach yourself something new.. often.

Understand that differences are OK!

Visualize a plan. Create small tangible steps to accomplish it.

Walk in faith, confidence, and humility.

X-amine situations as if you’re seeking to find where you can grow.

Yearn to do, see, learn more.

Zoom with others. It’ll inturrupt the difficulty life can be in uncertain times.

30 Years Letter

Dear 2020 version Nova:

Time goes so fast, doesn’t it? It’s been five years since you’ve hit your 30’s; and, it’s not slowing down.

I’m so proud of you! You’ve achieved some super badass goals. Not only, have you gone through a pregnancy without family support; but also, you’ve mothered both daughters the best you could. You’ve even cried at night, frustrated when you harshly reacted.

Though you’ve had some set backs, you’ve continued to grow, always getting back up and trying again. You’ve over come fear of driving. You’ve built your financial situation to a healthier level. You’ve managed to meet the expectations of the county driving laws. You crawled your way out of the darkness with an ex. You’ve planted your roots as a blogger. You’ve taken steps to improve your health. You’ve, also, spent time identifying who you are.

I remember when you were chained to fear. Fear of disappointing. Fear of embarrassing. Fear of answering incorrectly. Fear of failure. There was so much fear in your mind… Fear that no one would love you, or see your worth, simply because you don’t work outside the home.

There were days when fear and anxiety battled to take your peace of mind. The times when money shadowed your joy were so hard. Similarly, so were the days when abandonment felt like laughter in your face. I recall your deep and bottomless burden of 2017. It took every bit of what you had just to breathe.

Time has changed things. You’ve always stood by that truth. You’re now a blossoming blogger, inspiring and lifting up precious lives all over the world. You’re investing into your passions; as you should because you deserve it. I’m certain that, every single day, someone says to him/herself “I’m so thankful I came across her blog! I needed to read this today!”

As you look ahead, walk with pride sweet lady. Your heart is bigger than your body; and, you’re beautiful. You define the essence of an INFJ, HSP, Cancerian woman. You’re brave and intelligent. You’re a great friend and superb mom. You’re actively seeking to be a better sister. You’re so much already to your special someone.

Though these past five years have held changes; I’ve never questioned your ability to overcome.

So Keep Seeking Truth, Speaking Life, and Spreading Kindness 🌟💛

With all my love,

Nova (2015)

33rd Day of 365 Thanks Giving

Today, I’m giving thanks for this man, my grandpa. I know this post is early; but, it’s only been hours since I’ve learned of his ascend to Heaven.

I have some incredibly amazing wonderful memories of him… But, nothing recent.

Family dynamics are so painful sometimes. I hope my pap knew how much I love him!!

My heart is so broken 💔

34th Day of 365 Thanks Giving

Today, I’m giving thanks to my imperfect but confident heart. This past year has been beyond tough! I know we can all vouch for that! At different points (or possibly collectively this whole time), we’ve been fearful of the unknown. Additionally, we’ve behaved out of sorts then our usual!

How will bills be paid?

Will I have money for groceries this week?

Did I REALLY just snap at my kid for the way she chews?

Why the heck does my SO throw the dirty laundry right next to the clothes basket??

I’m thankful for the truth that none of us are meant to be perfect. I know we all have moments that remind us we’re mortal beings; but, I’m thankful we can do better.

I found this so encouraging. A short sweet memo to ring in the new year:

Delightfully Devilish

There is something sinfully devilish about gorging on candy-covered donuts!

OMG… but Oh So Tasty!!!

There’s several donut places (small town shops!) that carry such deliciousness! It’s been a minute since I’ve been in; noted!!

Maybe I’ll snap some pictures.

What’s your go-to donut?

If I’m being honest, cinnamon sugar twists are my favorite!! I REALLY like raspberry whatever in/on them too!!

Just one 😉😂!

Anyway, good night beautiful people!

Today, I’m giving thanks for unique architecture! In a world that struggles with accepting differences, some architecture handsomely displays that beauty. I have noticed when these modern companies build multiple buildings, whether a building with multiple units or a single family home, they have super similar features. Maybe time has become too limited for lots of thought; however, I don’t think design should be as boring.

2021 “Choice”

You have the power and ability to live a healthy, happy, and productive life.

Truth is, no one else can, will, or should create that for you, no matter in whom you try to find it.

How you may ask?

In your choices! It’s that “simple” {now I didn’t say easy!}

As we begin 2021, let’s choose what we “see” around us, in one another, what’s “really” going on in situations.

Let’s choose to see good in humanity.

Let’s choose to allow ourselves to grieve.

Let’s choose to avoid negativity.

Let’s choose to understand.

Let’s choose to pause.

Let’s choose to sit in silence.

Let’s choose to accept we won’t always have control.

Let’s choose to trust our journey.

Let’s choose to trust ourselves.

Let’s choose to make ourselves a priority.

It ALL begins with the man in the mirror!
