Secret Treasure

The secret treasure can only be seen.

Seen by the beholder, the one whom it belongs.

Unknown to all, it awaits anxiously.

Ready to be discovered.

Written for Fandango’s Provocative Question

His question is this:

“How do you feel about people who always seem to exaggerate when relating a story? Do you equate embellishment with lying? As a blogger, when, if ever, is stretching the truth, other than when writing fiction, permissible?”

My thoughts:

People who exaggerate are individuals who seek acceptance from others. These are insecure individuals who need to be ” important ” in the eyes of others. These are individuals who need to feel “useful” and “valuable” to others. These are individuals who stretch the truth simply to spice up their life because they feel their own is insufficient/boring.

I don’t feel this is a means of lying, just as deception isn’t a form of lying. It has a life of it’s own: exaggeration. That’s stating the truth but on a larger scale.

I’m not sure, aside from story telling, why one would do such a thing. The only scenario that I feel would hold this acceptable is in the event of a surprise. For example, if a child senses a surprise party, a parent may exaggerate the truth to keep the surprise.

YDWP: Inviting

Rita decided to take a sabbatical from work. She was frustratingly overwhelmed, to say the very least! Six weeks ago, a multimillion dollar malpractice lawsuit landed on her desk. As the Chief of Surgery, she’s responsible when “shit hits the fan.” This was a Santa’s sack of coal set on fire kind of damage.

It was a Wednesday night, the ER was fairly quiet. Middle of August, weather’s been nice… The patients on the stupidity scale has been alarmly low.

Rita was in the process of a triple bipass when the call came in. Immediately, she passed the surgery to the Senior Attending and assisted with this case. The President’s daughter was drunk and fell over a banister, into a five foot pool. As if the lack of depth wasn’t enough of a problem, a resident knicked a main artery. She bled out before Rita and the other surgeons could contain it.

The conversation with the President was a far cry from a nightmare. He needed someone to blame. The rage was uncontainable. That’s understandable coming from a parent, any would get it; but, he had intangible expectations for his daughter.

Shaking her head of the disarray her work has been, she came back to the present. This quaint little cottage off the Switzerland Alps was perfect. Inside, the cozy guest area, private jacuzzi, and accommodating kitchen greeted her with a warm inviting atmosphere.

The bedroom was dressed in grizzly bear commodities: bedsheets, curtains, night stand. She placed her suitcases on the bed and sat down.

” It feels so nice to finally have some peace and quiet!” She whispered with great relief.

Chosen Road

Only the hearts that have decided to allow themselves to change, the ones who are willing to face unknown and experience uncomfortable, will be the ones who are capable of seeing the good in any situation…

Because seeing the good.. Is always a choice.

Getting-To-Know-You Challenge

Ms Laura @lauravent69 has challenged me to share a bit about myself 😉

Here’s the rundown-

{Her beautiful nails need painted 🤪}

  1. Copy and paste the rules and the questions
  2. Tag at least two people to take the challenge.
  3. Use the “Getting to Know You” pic and pingback to this post.

Easy cheesy 🧀 lemon🍋 squishy, right?! Ok😂

  1. Name a moment in your life when you felt you were most courageous.
  2. If you had to choose only one breakfast cereal for the rest of your life, which one would it be?
  3. When have you felt the most scared?
  4. If you could sing like any musical artist, who would you choose?
  5. Do you collect anything?
  6. If you could live inside a tv show or movie, what would it be?
  7. Have you ever had a reoccurring dream? If so, what was it?
  8. What’s your Zodiac sign?

My Answers:

  1. One moment when I felt most courageous was in 2011, when my fiance at the time was arrested in South Carolina for driving without a license💳. He was pulled over, and I ended up alone… In the middle of who knows where, scared to death to drive, let alone at night 🌃… To meet people I didn’t know because they were his relatives. I didn’t know how I was going to bail⛓️ him out. I was driving at night, with no GPS… AND I have absolutely no idea how that expierence didn’t get any worse after the initial arrest.
  2. For the rest of my life, in this point in time, I would be eating plain cheerios🥣 with sugar! They’re my new Bea. Why? I have no idea! I loved Cinnamon Toast Crunch for the longest time, now it’s too sweet for my liking. Rats! 🐭
  3. Ironically, this is answered in #1 as well.
  4. Oh, that’s an interesting question. Sing “like”, in terms of sound? Style? Writing style? I’m not sure actually. I do know that artists such as, Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston, voices of Ariana Grande and Halsey, and sound composition like that of Imagine Dragons would be in the mix. 🎤🎧🎶
  5. I collect kindness and throw it around like confetti 🙂 🎉🎊
  6. 🖥️ I would love to live where Melissa McCarthy is, because she’s hilarious.
  7. I actually have; but, at this point in time, I don’t remember it. Odd.
  8. I’m a true blue ♋️🦀💦!

Alright let’s see who is love to learn more about should he/she wish to participate:

  1. Crushed Caramel
  2. Leslie Nichole
